Conall began his career in theatre, graduating from Trinity College Dublin and Goldsmith’s College London with a degree in Drama and Theatre Studies. He specialised in Lighting Design.
From there he made the transition to Cameras for TV and film as a camera assistant on Barabas Theatre Co.’s short sketches for TnaG (TG4). Over ten years later he has worked on numerous feature films and TV shows in Ireland, the USA and Germany.
As a Camera Assistant and later as a DOP for the Producer Roger Corman he worked on several features starring Roy Scheider, Paul Bettany, Jonathan Pryce and David Carradine among others. He progressed to TV via the Canadian Disney Channel and SKG Dreamworks TV show Freaks and Geeks. He has worked with and learned from many actors, directors and technicians. He currently works freelance in Ireland on RTE’s Fair City and on a number of non-drama TV programmes.
As a Cameraman and a Camera Assistant Conall has trained and worked through both US and European methods of TV and film-making and firmly believes the best way to learn how, is to do. He welcomes a hands-on approach to learning.
