TIFA ( Teen Irish Film Academy )
Our very popular Teen Irish Film Academy runs every Saturday for 10 weeks. Students can choose from Acting for Film / Film Making . The classes will run for 2 hours and there are plenty of different times to choose from. All students come out with a DVD of there work at the end of the course .
NO experience is required.
The Irish Film Academy encourages all students from all back rounds to get involved. This course is a must for the creative teen !
Equipment:
All students shoot on Sony FX1 Z1E High Definition Camera’s and Edit on Final Cut Studio. All Film Making programmes in the IFA are hands-on so students will begin working Creatively through Technology from the first day.
Supervision:
Safety is paramount to The Irish Film Academy Faculty. All Teen programmes are fully supervised by co-ed teaching staff. Max class size is 10. Crew size is 5 max. When on field trips each crew is fully supervised by a staff member.
What do they do:
Filmmakers will Direct their own crew.,make important decisions regarding camera shots and actors and will learn to form friendships with a diverse group of fellow Artists. Film Making students will learn how to write, shoot, direct and edit their own short Film / Music Video. They will also do Film Combat with Paul Burke and Special effects Make-up with RTE’s Kevin Murnane, Storyboarding etc
Acting for Film students will Learn the famous Meisner technique favoured by Tom Cruise , Diane Keaton etc, the Alexander Technique with Sara Shepherd and both groups will meet up for Film Combat and Special effects Make-up. All Actors get to Act in the Film Makers Short Films aswell and all will receive a DVD of their work in the IFA to take home.
Students that complete this Programme learn a vast amount in a very short space of time. This is an excellent way for Teens to get their feet wet in the movie making world and have great fun in the process.
